Gwynenn Jones began her dance training at the age of 14 with the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet before continuing her studies at BalletMet Academy in Columbus, OH. In 1998, she moved to New York City, where she was awarded a fellowship at The Ailey School, training intensively for two years.
Jones went on to perform with Ailey II from 2000 to 2002 and was an original member of Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet from 2003 to 2004. She then joined the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, where she danced from 2004 to 2009, before returning to Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet under the direction of Benoit-Swan Pouffer from 2009 to 2012.
Throughout her career, Jones has also performed with Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance and the Fred Benjamin Dance Company and had the honor of dancing alongside Aretha Franklin. Her work extends beyond the stage, with an on-screen appearance in the film The Adjustment Bureau.
Now residing in Orange County, NY, she enjoys life with her husband and two children while continuing to share her expertise as the Rehearsal Director for the Warwick Dance Collective.
