Richard Schacher
Musical Director
Richard Schacher began his musical journey as a classical pianist, earning a B.M. in Piano from the Manhattan School of Music, an M.A. in Music Composition from Montclair State, and a C.A.S. from SUNY New Paltz. While performing classical recitals, he discovered his passion for theater in high school, with Jacques Brel marking his first show.
His extensive career spans stock and regional theaters, Off-Broadway, and Broadway, where he played for A Chorus Line both on Broadway, National Tour, and in Berlin, Germany. He also toured nationally with They’re Playing Our Song and The Magic Show. In addition to his theater work, Richard has conducted, arranged, and orchestrated numerous club acts, performing across the United States.
Beyond performing, he has worked as an instructor for Yamaha International and dedicated years to education as a music teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal in multiple school districts before recently retiring.
